Une artiste sud africaine aux réalisations curieuses, qui nous laissent rarement indifférents... c'est cette étrangeté qui éveille en nous, justement, cette envie de voir (par soi même).

South African visual artist RETHA FERGUSON spent three months in Paris from March to May 2009 as part of the 2008 ABSA Atelier Gerard Sekoto Prize. The work the artist created during her artistic residency in Paris will be showcased this year within the French cultural network of Alliances Françaises and French Cultural Centres in Southern Africa as part of a tour.

The works zoom in on single faces and then urge the viewer to stand back and think about the meaning of 6.5 billion individuals and the impassioned traces they leave on this planet.
